Why Merrill? There are many positive aspects that I love about my hometown. The Wisconsin River is our greatest untapped resource and holds many opportunities for the community in the future such as the potential riverfront development. We have great schools, an award-winning library, many great parks, a talented Merrill City Band and year-round outdoor sports and activities. You can’t beat the small town atmosphere and the wonderful people that , like me, call Merrill home.— David S.
Why Merrill? A perspective from a young family. I was born and raised in Merrill, Wisconsin. I went to school and graduated in Merrill. My wife, who is also from Merrill and I chose to come back to Merrill after college for many, many reasons. The obvious reason is that both of our families are from Merrill and it was important for us to be close to our families. But there were many other factors that led us back. Merrill is a wonderful place to raise a family and that was very important to us. Why is Merrill a wonderful place to raise a family? Merrill has a wonderful school system, abundant green space and recreational opportunities, friendly and caring people, small town charm, and a sense of pride that many people don't even realize and that is only to name a few. Merrill is big enough to always have something to do and small enough to give you that sense of security. I enjoy the outdoors and like the idea of being able to drive 10 minutes in any director and be able to hunt, fish, hike, and enjoy nature. My wife and I are proud to be back in our hometown - Merrill. - Dan. W.
